Admission to the Abkhaz State University can be carried out according to the following options:

Attached to a personal application for admission to the first year for undergraduate and specialist training programs are: a copy of the passport (or a document replacing it) of the applicant; original document of state standard on secondary (complete) general or secondary vocational education; medical certificate in the form 086 / y; 6 photographs 3x4 in size (black and white or color photograph without a hat on matte paper, taken in the current year).

Persons who completed military service by conscription and dismissed from military service, when submitting documents, present a military ID, and conscripts - a registration certificate (or a certificate of military registration).

During the application period, applicants have the right to submit additional documents to the selection committee, including those giving the right to benefits established by the legislation of the Republic of Abkhazia and the university. Persons with disabilities, when submitting a personal application for admission, provide, at their discretion, the original or a copy of a document confirming their disabilities (if a copy of this document is provided, its original is presented).

Disabled children, disabled people of groups I and II, who have the right to admission out of competition, subject to successful completion of entrance examinations, when applying for admission, provide a medical certificate from a state institution that there are no contraindications for studying at the university.

At the Abkhaz State University, 4 types of scholarships are paid:

• State academic scholarship , amounting to 1000 rubles. Paid to full-time students, payment condition: successful passing of the session without debts as "excellent".

• State social scholarship, amounting to 1000 rubles. Paid to full-time students, payment terms: social scholarships are received by children from large families, the disabled, orphans, children who do not have a father or mother, as well as students from families with incomes below the subsistence level or if the parents are non-working pensioners. To confirm the right to a social scholarship, you need to submit the relevant certificates to the university administration.

• Personal scholarships ranging from 1500 to 3000 rubles. Paid to full-time students, payment condition: successful completion of the session without debts as "excellent". There are nominal scholarships at each faculty of the university.

• Scholarship from Aquafon GSM, amounting to 2000 rubles. Paid to full-time students, repatriate students.

On the 2nd floor of the Abkhaz State University there is a library named after the patriarch of Abkhaz literature D. I. Gulia, the constantly replenished book fund of which currently amounts to 552895 copies.
